HSSE Manager, Large Engineering Consultancy, Dublin.

Salary Level : €50-€65 per hour DOE.  Long Term Contract 

Purpose

The position exists to provide front end support to proposals and program manage the implementation and consistent execution during design and construction phase of the HSSE program for local branch of large Engineering Consultancy.

Project Types: Large Industrial, Pharmaceutical and Semi-Conductor Facilities.

 

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Managing all safety and environmental issues across the Design and Construction, Construction / Commissioning Management, Maintenance.
  • Continuous development and improvement of effective and robust HSE policies, strategies and procedures to ensure class leading performance levels at all relevant sites.
  • Ensuring a strong company-wide awareness of all HSE obligations and a cohesive HSE culture across all parts of the business.
  • Read and define the project specific HSSE plan in support of the proposal process.
  • Develop and issue the HSSE project specific execution plans including goals and reward programs, required procedures and training.
  • Define the requirements and selection criteria for HSSE project specific managers.
  • Participate in engineering design and constructability reviews assessing HSSE risk and facilitating agreement on mitigation actions.
  • Manage incident reporting to local/national authorities.
  • Monitor, measure and analyze HSSE execution on projects.
  • Monitor, measure and analyze HSSE compliance on projects and in the office.
  • Monitor security conditions and changes.
  • Define and execute the business and project specific HSSE audit plans.
  • Attend customer meetings where HSSE performance is discussed or being planned.
  • Process owner for EPC HSSE including leadership of HSSE process improvements.
  • Investigate and understand local requirements for HSSE compliance.
  • Review security requirements, and develop risk asessments and evacuation plans.
  • Plan HSSE Site mobilization and staffing selection (not recruiting) as well as onboarding/training of project specific resources.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc engineering or other acceptable equivalent with 5-10 years experience in HSSE management projects.
  • Prior experience leading and managing EPC projects with successful demonstration of low incident rates.
  • Strong understanding of applicable regulations, construction and commissioning safety and health procedures and EPC industry standards and practices.
  • Prior successful experience working in a matrix organization.
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to communicate complex analyzes and concepts to all levels of the business team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Comfortable presenting to management, customers, partners and other external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and program management skills.
  • Proficient in all standard MS Office and Adobe applications in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, MS Project, Sharepoint and Visio. 
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally as required for specific projects.
  • Candidate must hold, or be able to obtain, a valid passport and work visas as required in the various countries in which we work.

 

Salary Level : €50-€65 per hour DOE.  Long Term Contract
